Visitors are encouraged to tour the two-story home of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune - a famous civil rights leader, educator, and founder of the nationally recognized Bethune-Cookman College. Today her former home is a National Historic Landmark and serves as the headquarters of the Mary McLeod Bethune Foundation, which preserves her legacy in numerous citations, plaques, artifacts and photographs, depicting the history of this civil rights leader who passed away in 1955.
